College Search by Personality type: ESTJ
•Likes making decisions on the basis of logic, using objective considerations
•Of course you will want to know the rankings, but you should examine the factors considered;
•You should be able to provide a list of plus and minuses for each college on their list;
•Check out College Outcomes on their Career section of their websites or at UCANN.
•Likes to look at Thru-puts (How the college works);
Opinions of friends, parents and counselors will not hold as strong a sway unless presented objectively;
Tend to be black and white. This will be a good or bad college…rarely in between.
You will be organized and practical in your college search, carefully laying out a plan of attack and analyzing the facts of each college. When exploring college options, an ESTJ will often:
•Gather college related facts and details through brochures and visits;
•Go to college visits not to just understand the college, but meet the people who make the decisions;
•Logically evaluate their college options—be sure to check out Naviance scattergrams;
•Aim to match their values with the colleges;
•Select their college direction early and rarely question their choice.
ESTJs tend to be more traditional, factual and detailed types and so best suited to more established, stable and traditional colleges that value hard work, attention to detail, adherence to known rules and protocols and where they can have tangible outcomes.
