College Search by Personality type: INFJ

Strategic in nature,  you want to establish a clear vision towards, but tends not involve others in the development of that vision

This may be hard for you, but solicit your parents considerations and consult with your counselor for refinement of your plan to realize your vision.

You will be organized and practical in your college search, carefully laying out a plan of attack and analyzing the facts of each college. When exploring College options, an INFJ will often...

•Set idealistic long-term goals  and create a plan to meet their goals;

•Research information on possible college opportunities:

•Need to consider the specific details of potential careers:

•Incorporate their values and trust their intuition when making a career decision;

•Naturally make decisions based on their feelings but should also incorporate objective information.

•Likes looking at information from a global viewpoint, spotting patterns and relationships, that lead to an understanding of the key issues

A dreamer by nature, you may be attracted to colleges that share your idealism, but not actually look at the pragmatic aspects of admissions

  1. Look at the scattergrams to accurately gauge your likelihood for admission. Discuss with your counselor alternative choices that could also be good fits.

•Enjoys change, challenge, and variety

  1. Colleges offer many different time tables and curricula; you like change and may thrive at a college that allows more change of classes through innovative calendar systems like quarter systems and block schedules.

  1. Colleges with innovative learning environments

  2. You may well enjoy the challenge of creating your own major--—over 1100 colleges let you do this now.

Have difficulty getting started with ambiguous tasks (and the college search is full of ambiguity), but wants to complete the task soon

Work with your counselor to identify criteria and generate lists.
